Besides the diameters indicated we provide to 600 mm diameter forged and shaped bars.
SAE 304 stainless steel is widely used in food processing industry (cultery, hoods, sinks), beverage cans, architectural finishing, tanks for liquefied gases, heat exchangers, pollution control devices. It is widely used in chemical industry due to its chemical agents resistance.

Despite having limitations due to the addition of sulfur (degradation of corrosion resistance, deterioration of plastic deformability and worsening of weldability), the AISI 303 remains one of the most used stainless steel brands in long products, for its excellent workability to the machine tool.
The forging of AISI 303 is therefore difficult. As an indication, acceptable results can be obtained with heating up to 1180 ÷ 1210 ° C and forging between 1210 and 950 ° C.
If it is necessary to weld the AISI 303, it is advisable to use an austenoferritic brand as a filler metal.
